The Study of the Effects of Active Listening Training on Loneliness and Satisfaction with School Life of High School Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of classroom-based social skills training on loneliness and satisfaction with school life of high school students.

The target skill was gConfirmation.h The subjects of this investigation were 3 experimental classes and 3 control classes. These were selected from 431 high school studentsi243 male and 188 female studentsjbased on the results of the pre-test. gThe revised UCLA loneliness scaleh and gSatisfaction with school life scaleh were used in this study.

The experimental classes were participated in gConfirmation skillh training facilitated by the each homeroom teacher for about 20 minutes. The training was continued 4`8 times. The control classes were participated in the normal homeroom.

After the training the score of the high loneliness group decreased. The gRecognitionh score of the gUnsatisfied with school lifeh group increased.

The results showed that the active listening training based on gConfirmation skillh was effective to enhance the level of trained students.
